The EquiFit theraputic pad uses the T-Foam memory foam that is always so comfortable for horses. This pad maximizes support, disperses pressure points, absorbs shock, and helps prevent back soreness. I have always loved the EquiFit brand and though I have never used this pad, I have always wanted to try it.
The ThinLine pad has always been a favorite for many. It is great for horses that don’t need a lot of padding underneath the saddle. It flexes and moves with your horse, has great shock absorption, and offers closer contact between horse and rider
The Ogilvy pad is somewhat similar to the EquiFit one although there are a few different features. This pad uses anti-slip, moisture-wicking materials. It has anti-microbial and anti-fungal properties. It also uses a memory foam that gives great shock absorption. This is another product that I have been dying to try on my horse.
We all love to spoil our little nuggets, thats for sure. And what better time to do that than the holidays?! Here is a dog treat recipe that I am dying to try for my pups! Paula Deen’s recipe for Bodeen’s Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits look so good I might eat them myself.
Ingredients:
3/4 cup nonfat Milk
1 Egg
1 cup Peanut Butter, smooth
2 1/4 to 2 1/2 cups Whole Wheat Flour
1 tablespoon Baking Powder
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, egg and peanut butter. Add in the flour and baking powder to make a very stiff dough, using your hands to work in the last of the flour if necessary. (Paula’s note: as a general rule, most homemade dog biscuits do well with 1 part liquid to 3 parts dry. You can customize the recipe by adding and subtracting ingredients your dog likes.)
Flour a work surface and roll out dough to a 1/4” thickness. Cut into desired sizes depending on the size of your dog. Bake on a parchment lined baking tray for approximately 20 minutes. Turn biscuits over and bake for an additional 15 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely before storing in an airtight container. Bodine’s Dog Biscuits can also be stored in the freezer for up to 3 months.

These photo projects by Turkish artist Sakir Gökçebag are fantastic! He skillfully arranges and manipulates fruit into these visually dynamic geometric shapes and patterns. My favorite are his apple pieces but his other fruits are equally great. His other works include installations using umbrellas, toilet paper, shoes and various other materials. My horse and I would love to go to one of his exhibits.

These products are sleek and modern. Their cool variety of carriers for dogs and cats are safety tested and approved. My favorite is the Sleepypod because it can be used as a super comfy bed (which my little nugget would love) or a carrying bag. And I would totally get the Sidekick for my bike if my dog wasn’t so crazy and energetic (she would never sit still long enough to use it).

It’s time for the Alltech National Horse Show in Lexington, KY! October 30 – November 4, the show offers $600,000 in prize money with a $250,000 Alltech Grand Prix. I so wish I could be there! But I will definitely be tuning into the USEF Network on November 3rd to catch the grand prix.
